If you like 2D sidescrollers, you definitely don't want to miss this one. It's a rogue-lite sidescrolling RPG that's captured the hearts of gamers everywhere thanks to its excellent design, top-notch combat and addictive gameplay. In September, Dead Cells comes to Game Pass. Political scheming, war and murder, and a rich, immersive story all make this a wonderful roleplaying game that's only gotten better since launch. Set in the Holy Roman Empire, you play as Henry, a blacksmith's son, as you set out on a grand adventure. Instead of elves and magic, the game goes for realism. Kingdom Come: Deliverance is one of my favorite RPGs of recent years. Kingdom Come: Deliverance Credit: Warhorse If you enjoy games like Hotline Miami you'll like this one, too. The way the game ties the action to the music is really unique, also, with every kill punctuated by a drum beat or crash of the symbols. You make your way through highly-stylized, colorful levels, throwing guards into bloody puddles, trying not to get shot, and facing stiffer and more daunting odds as you progress. In it you play a gorilla who's escaped from some sort of laboratory. You play as Dante, Nero and V-three very different hunters with very different combat styles.Īpe Out is a stylish top-down twin-stick shooter that's loads of fun. If you like big strategy games, Age of Empires is a classic, and the Definitive Edition makes it much prettier.ĭevil May Cry 5 remains one of my favorite games of 2019-an absolute blast with tons of replay value, super-fast combat and a great (absurd) story of demons and the hunters who take them down with Style. Several of these games are absolutely terrific (and several I haven't played yet).
